The Financial Perspective for Your Rehabilitation and Nursing Home Stay.

Are you confused about how the reimbursement works for your loved ones stay at a rehabilitation center or nursing home? Do you know what sources your loved one has to pay for a skilled nursing visit or rehabilitation stay?

We, at Terrace Healthcare Center, have a dedicated individual to work with you and your family with regard to the sources available to you to pay for the stay while in a rehabilitation center or nursing home. We would like you to feel at ease that our business office staff has a combined knowledge of over 23 years of experience in working with healthcare finances. Outside agencies provide this service for thousands of dollars, but at Terrace Healthcare Center, we provide this service free of charge to you and your family member.

Some of the general funding sources are Medicare, New York State Medicaid and Commercial Insurances, such as CDPHP, MVP, AARP, Blue Shield of NorthEastern NY and Medicare HMOs. We are also a Veterans contracted facility.

Medicare:
Have you received 3 nights of hospital care and need rehabilitation services related to your hospital stay? Was the hospital stay within 30 days of the date you are looking to be admitted to the rehabilitation center or nursing home? If so, Medicare provides 100 days of available payment for services based on medical necessity. Medicare Benefits provide the first 20 days paid in full and there are 80 additional benefit days with a co-insurance due. New York State Medicaid:

Will you have high medical bills that you are unsure how you will pay for? Do you receive Supplemental Security Income? If you meet certain income, resource, age and disability requirements, you may be eligible for New York State Medical Assistance. Commercial Insurances usually require pre-authorization, but with coordination between our experienced admissions staff and the discharge planning caseworker at the hospital you were at, we are able to obtain the appropriate authorizations to assist you in receiving your rehabilitation.
